The ARTIST SPIRIT

The process of my latest endeavor...
The concept the teapot represents a woman who serves, society, the people in her life.  She is damaged somewhat and bares her scars, yet she carries on.

I am recently consumed with the idea that a sketch book reveals the soul of an artist.
In an effort to organize myself I came across a few ideations that I created over a span of two years...

The Power of a LINE. The Infinite Possibilities of Expression

A line can generate feeling.  A line can inspire other lines to follow.  Made with passion they flow.  The have the power to inspire thought.  "Gesture, the most ancient form of expression- of communication between living creatures." Robert Henri

The infinite possibilities of expression. A Gesture the embraces the space.

"In Great art there is no beginning and end in point of time.  All time is comprehended."

“The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.” Marcus Aurelius

The process of experiencing a design from concept ideation to actual real world physical state has changed me as an artist and as a designer.  With all of the heart ache and struggle turns all adds to the greatness of seeing something realized.  It breaths.  It lives.  What I have realized we set the tone for the emotional reaction to the products that are placed on the floor for the consumer whatever scale they may be. LIBERATION.

Architecture in a BOX

LEGO- has fascinated me and captavated my imagination for as long as I can rememeber.  To be frank I have a problem following formalized instructions and thus have never put togeather a LEGO kit. Imagine my surprise when my very dear friend Melissa bought me Frank Lloyd Wright's Guggenheim Museum. This documents the journey of putting it together and the questions that arose about a man who changed the face of architecture.  Could such a visionary be placed in a formalized lego like structure? It was truly and experience I felt a little closer to him.  The architecture which represents so much to so many to me represents freedom | imagination | daring.

Dare to Challenge our Fundamental Thnking

I have the mean reds. "When your afraid of something but you don't know what your afraid of." Holly Golightly

FEAR | This year undoubtley marks the best year of my life.  Selfishly for my academic success, my very very lucky career success, and my incredible growth of support from my family and friends.  I am blessed, lucky as hell, and want to pay it forward more than I did in 2010.

I write down my wishes to the universe every new year, and what always surprises me is how many actually come to be reality.  Most not in the way I envisioned- they arrive better than I could have imagined. I am open more because of what transpired in 2010.  I was vulnerable | I hurt | I fell and dusted myself off got back up and became wiser. I AM A WISER WOMAN | Thank you 2010. Here's to an undoubtedly more amazing journey.

Fearless Ambition
Artists Take RISKS
Think beyond the expected
Art started without emotion in NOT ART
You can not find peace by avoiding LIFE
I can't fix everything
You either do it or you don't
You are not your mistakes
You are your possibilities
Let them hate you just do you thing
I am in control of my destiny
LIFE WITHOUT LIMITATIONS
Self Doubt is part of the process
Embrace your frustration to evoke passion
Our work is an extension of ourselves
We are the innovators we are the visionaries- those who dare to dream and ACT.
Allow your work to make extraordinary demands on you.
Do not accept things for face value
COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES
Compartmentalize.
