The Birth of Creativity

Often I find myself sitting sketch book open- pen in hand and nothing.  The thoughts will not flow or they are flowing with such force I can not stop then long enough to draw them.  And so I found myself wondering where does creativity live- and how can we birth it- how can we draw upon it when we need it or silence it when it buzzes so much it is difficult to function.  Or maybe that is its curse- or a blessing- It remains a mystery.

Raw Exposer

So the idea...which was first conceived yesterday during my journey home from work. The circles from my first installation piece entitled"Raw Exposer" which represented my evolution as an artist, designer, and thus a person has transformed me in ways I never imagined.  The circle forms which are hand cut intertwine- one can not be without the other.  Is that not represented of life?  Everything building on one another to create form.

It found its way to the CCS sponsored DIFFA table (Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids)

And then at work where I found myself adhering the circles with push pins into the wall near my cube...

So once again the idea.  I will be creating temporary art installations with my "Raw Exposer" circles with the hope that it will transform-
LIFE. IDEAS. PERSPECTIVE.

Little Therapy Sessions

To the Universe:  What I know to be sure as of today:  I love the sound of trace paper as I tear it from the roll- the exploration of ideas, my black sharpie marker rushes across the page with force and furry.  The challenge still remains to translate the ideas in my head to the page and thus the computer.  How do we capture the madness which lives within our own head into reality where others can understand and experience its emotions?   Maybe that is the challenge of design to capture what excites us for others to enjoy.  Whether I failed or triumphed remains to be seen- but what matters I have found is not the ability to generate amazing renderings or fabulous sketches but rather emotions.  Everyday is fleeting.  It holds its own magic.  There is no failure. Art demands complex effort.

Organized Chaos...

Architecture is the framework for human life. Architecture is a means, life is its purpose.
So the question do we gravitate towards certain architecture that we deem within the context of how we perceive our lives?

The remark

And so the notion: that I will not accept limits- I will instead choice to live and design without limitations.

This marks the remark of exploring design through the eyes of a "soft modernist". So let us innovate or die, dream the impossible, remain naive, be willing to break the rules in order to create change and be fearless enough to keep trying. ...
